01 Pay & benefits
The things people actually ask about.
Listed plainly because you should not have to get to a third interview to find out how per diem works.
- Pay
- Weekly, on Friday. Direct deposit every Friday, overtime after 40, double time on the seventh consecutive day. Storm work carries a premium rate and guaranteed hours.
- Travel
- Per diem, paid daily. Lodging booked and paid by the company — you do not front it. Per diem hits the same check. Rotation home every other weekend on travel jobs.
- Health
- Coverage on day 31. Medical, dental, and vision starting the 31st day, not after 90. Family coverage subsidized at the same rate as employee-only.
- Retirement
- 401(k), 5% match. Dollar-for-dollar to five percent, vested after two years. Enrollment is automatic; opting out takes a form.
- Tools & gear
- We buy it. PPE, FR clothing, and rain gear issued and replaced by the company. Annual boot allowance. You bring hand tools; we replace what breaks on our job.
- Training
- Paid, on the clock. CDL training, OQ, splicing school, and line apprenticeship are paid time with the certification cost covered. No training repayment agreements.
02 Apprenticeship
Start on the shovel. Finish running the crew.
Most of our foremen started as laborers or groundmen. That is not a story we tell at orientation — it is how the company staffs itself, because the field is the only place this work can be learned.

Veterans
Military experience transfers directly to this work, and we hire for it. Apprenticeship hours are approved for GI Bill benefits, and we will help you file.
